Ombudsman Complaints

The Ontario Ombudsman is an independent, impartial officer of the Ontario Legislature who investigates complaints about provincial and municipal government organizations.

If you have a concern about the Township of Schreiber that you feel has not been resolved through the Township’s internal complaint process, you may contact the Ontario Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman can review complaints about:

      • Municipal administration and services
      • Council and local boards
      • Closed meetings (through the Ombudsman’s role as the Closed Meeting Investigator)

Before contacting the Ombudsman, residents are encouraged to first submit a formal complaint to the Township using our General Complaint Form and allow staff an opportunity to address the issue.
